Baytree Girls visit Parliament

On October 24th, we had the opportunity to visit the houses of Parliament. We were treated to a tour of the palace of Westminster and learnt more about the history of the building and our democracy. The girls particularly enjoyed visiting the Robing room and were surprised that a room the sovereign uses for less than half an hour each year is so grand. We also had an interesting discussion about the need for more women MPs.

Thank you to our MP, Kate Hoey for organising this incredible trip. Inspired by their visit, the girls from the Baytree Youth Council are organising a debate at the centre.
