Looking for ways to make this summer memorable for girls! We’ve curated a list for you to fundraise for the EmpowerHER Summer Programme. Your fundraising will make a massive difference, and we want to help you raise as much as possible.
Whether you want to challenge yourself online, bring your local community together, or host a fun event with friends, we have a list full of ideas to get you started.
Birthday & Milestone Fundraisers: Invite family and friends to join our campaign as part of your celebration.
Community Bake Sale: Set up a stall at a local market, school, or community centre and sell delicious treats baked by you and your friends.
Virtual 5K or 10K Fun Run: Ask people to sponsor you to walk, run, or cycle a set distance, tracking your progress on apps like Strava.
Host a Movie Night: Host a movie night where friends and family can watch a classic or new release.
Community Yard Sale: Clear out your loft or garage and host a neighbourhood sale, where 100% of the proceeds go toward your fundraising target.
Charity Car Wash: Gather a few friends on a Saturday morning and offer to wash cars in a busy local area for a fixed donation.
Upcycled Furniture Auction: Source old, unwanted furniture for free online, give it a fresh makeover, and sell it for 100% profit.
Host Quiz Night: Run a friendly competition between friend groups.
“No-Spend” Weekend: Lock your wallet away for one weekend, finding free activities to do, and donate the exact amount you saved.
Host a Dinner Party: Host a dinner party where guests rate your cooking and anonymously “pay” what they think the meal was worth.
Handmade Craft Stall: Use your hobbies, like knitting, candle making, or pottery to create unique items to sell at local craft markets.
We’re happy to meet with you for support, whether you’d like help developing these ideas or assistance with an existing plan or campaign. These suggestions are optional and can be modifiedto suit your needs and resources.
This year’s EmpowerHER Summer Programmme is rooted in one end goal: helping girls move from social isolation to social integration through meaningful connection, mentorship, and community support. Research continues to show the serious effects that a lack of social connection can have on wellbeing, especially for young people. Through the EmpowerHER Summer Programme, the Baytree Centre provides structured opportunities for girls from underrepresented backgrounds to connect, grow in confidence, and feel supported throughout the summer months.
