EmpowerHER Summer Programme: Combating Social Isolation

Baytree’s EmpowerHER summer programme is deeply impactful and life transforming for the girls. It sends a message that summer is a season to build lifelong relationships, improve physical and mental wellness while helping the girls to feel stronger sense of belonging and integration within their community.

Through our summer programmes, girls gain greater clarity, build core communication and social skills, and discover their ‘spark’.

This programme is proof that beyond the classroom, learning experiences can be designed for girls in a more strategic yet relaxed manner. Furthermore, we understand that not every girl would be otherwise exposed to social activities and informal learning outside the classroom; especially girls from underrepresented backgrounds. For girls like this, this is not just a fun programme but a lifeline.

Data from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine shows that 17%–21% of individuals aged 13 to 29 report feeling lonely, with the highest rates among teenagers. These numbers clearly reflect the urgent need for programmes like the EmpowerHER Summer Programme whose main aim is to empower girls from underrepresented backgrounds through fun and engaging activities that build confidence, leadership, and life skills, supporting personal growth, resilience, and future aspirations.

Social Isolation to Integration EmpowerHER Summer Programme: Combating Social Isolation

Each donation during this period will be doubled as all donations to the EmpowerHER Summer programme will be matched by The Childhood Trust, doubling the impact of your contribution and enabling us to support twice as many young girls in need.

Our Impact Focus

. Enable 100 girls to build confidence, wellbeing, and social connections through participation in EmpowerHER summer programme.

. Create safe, supportive spaces where girls can form positive peer relationships, access trusted mentors, and feel a sense of belonging within their community.

. Broaden life chances by providing enriching experiences including outdoor activities and personal development sessions that support skill development, aspiration, and positive self-identity.

Social connection is not a luxury; it is a health imperative that must be embedded in all levels of policy, care, and community life

Let’s make summer impactful and memorable for 100 girls together!
