At Baytree, we’re no strangers to creative ways of fundraising. But one of our brilliant volunteers Jamie went one step further to raise money and shaved off all of her hair!
Her bravery raised an incredible £1463 for Baytree and we couldn’t be more grateful.
After growing her hair during lockdown, Jamie wanted a change and thought “if I’m going for the chop, why not just go all out?!”
She chose Baytree to donate to as she has lived in Brixton for the last 2 years and wanted to see the money go somewhere local. “I think after the last year and a half I have realised how important community is and I wanted to give back as much as possible”.
She said she was “blown away” by the work Baytree does and feels that the education and empowerment of girls and women was a cause she truly believed in.
And, most importantly, she loves her new shaved head! “It feels AMAZING! I can’t stop touching it. And my morning routine – SO easy!”
Jamie has recently started volunteering at our Coding Club and we’re so happy to welcome her to the Baytree team.
Thanks for inspiring us all, Jamie!
