Social Action Week

At Baytree we don’t stop organising meaningful activities for our volunteers and beneficiaries, our Social Action Week wasn’t the exception.
Both the Women and Youth Services contributed to generate social awareness and organised different activities to raise money for two local charities.
In the Youth Service mentors and mentees were instructed to think about possible actions to be taken. Many proposals were received, from organising a soup kitchen to cleaning parks. These proposals were displayed in our Character Education board. Every girls had the chance to vote. The winning proposal was to help Battersea Cats and Dogs Home!
Mentors, girls and mums took it very seriously as they cooked cakes, created art and crafts and spread awareness within our volunteers and staff in order to donate money.
£110 was happily raised by the end of the week. This was given to Battersea Cats and Dogs Home by the two young girls, Ariana and Aitana, who presented the proposal.
In the Women Service a party was organised to raise money for Herne Hill Refugees. By selling delicious food, clothes and organising a raffle they managed to raise more than £300!
Well done everyone!
