Mentoring

Youth Mentors

Youth Mentors provide academic and personal development support to girls aged 6 to 20 as part of our Youth Mentoring Programme.

Mentors act as role models, providing a positive environment where mentees feel safe, encouraged and motivated to improve their confidence and self-esteem.

Mentors are expected to plan and deliver one mentoring session a week for at least an academic year. Sessions take place Monday to Thursday between 4pm-6pm (Tuesdays until 7.00 pm) and on Saturday mornings between 10am – 12:30pm.

Women’s Mentors

Women’s Mentors provide mentoring support to women enrolled in the Social Mobility Programme. This programme focuses on five areas of development: Family Stability, Wellbeing, Education, Money Management and Career. Mentors provide practical and emotional support and encouragement when needed.

Mentors are expected to plan and deliver one mentoring session a week for at least an academic term. Sessions run Monday to Thursday usually between 12am and 2pm or on Saturday mornings between 10am and 12:30pm.

The ability to speak Spanish, French, Portuguese or Arabic are useful.

Mentors are fully trained before they start to equip them with the tools and skills needed to establish and maintain the mentoring relationship.
