The Baytree Youth Forum visited City Hall on Thursday 11 December, where six groups of young people from our member clubs pitched for up to £1,000 towards their social action project. City Pitch’ is a joint initiative with the Santander Foundation and the Mayor’s Fund for London delivered in partnership with Baytree’s NGO partner, London Youth.
A variety of projects were presented, and each of the groups impressed the panel with their ideas, presentation, and passion.
Our Youth Forum ladies presented for their social action campaign, a Women and Girls Empowerment photography project to tackle the issues around gender based violence and in collaboration with a local refuge centre. They were awarded £1,000!
Their campaign will begin in Spring 2015, and will hope to create awareness of VAWG in Lambeth, hold a photography exhibition with partner charities, and raise money for NGOs tackling this issue.
